This pattern is for a simple iPod touch or iPhone cozy. The finished cozy measures approximately
3”wide by 5” tall. There are two
versions to the cozy. The first version
is to make a striped cozy like the one pictured. The second version is for a simpler, solid
cozy.
Materials:
Crochet hook size G
Worsted weight yarn in your choice of color(s)
Button
Yarn needle
Abbreviations:
Ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
Sts = stitches
Sl st = slip stitch
To
start either version, make a slip knot leaving a 6 inch long tail and chain 23,
sl st to first chain to create a circle.
You will be working in rounds for the remainder of the pattern.
Striped iPod Cozy:
Rnd
1 - 8 - ch1, sc in next each st around, sl st to ch 1 space. Tie off.
Rnd
9 – sl st to add new color yarn, ch 1, sc in each stitch around, sl st to ch 1
space.
Rnd
10 – Ch 1, sc in each stitch around, sl st to ch 1 space. Tie off.
Rnd
11 - sl st to add new color yarn, ch 1, sc in each stitch around, sl st to ch 1
space. Tie off.
Rnd
12 – sl st to add new color yarn, ch 1, sc in each stitch around, sl st to ch 1
space.
Rnd
13 – Ch 1, sc in each stitch around, sl st to ch 1 space. Tie off.
Rnd
14 - sl st to add original color yarn, ch 1, sc in each stitch around, sl st to
ch 1 space.
Rnd
15 -19 – Ch 1, sc in each stitch around, sl st to chain 1 space.
Rnd
20 – sl st in next 5 sc, ch 14, sl st in same stitch as last sl st to create a
loop. Slip stitch through the rest of
the 16 sc stitches and sl st to join to original sl st. Tie off.
Turn cozy inside out. Using the six inch tail you left at the bottom of the cozy, sew across to close the bottom edge. Turn the cozy right side out.
Using
the needle and matching yarn, sew a button onto the front of the case.
Weave
in all ends.
Solid iPod cozy:
Rnd
1 - 19 - ch1, sc in next each st around,
sl st to ch 1 space. Tie off.
Rnd
20 – sl st in next 5 sc, ch 14, sl st in same stitch as last sl st to create a
loop. Slip stitch through the rest of
the 16 sc stitches and sl st to join to original sl st. Tie off.
Turn cozy inside out. Using the six inch tail you left at the bottom of
the cozy, sew across to close the bottom edge. Turn the cozy right
side out.
Using
the needle and matching yarn, sew a button onto the front of the case.
