Just like everyone else, I am in love with the movie Despicable me.  Crochet minion projects have been extremely popular on the web.  I've seen minion hats, lots of minion amigurumi and even minion blankets.

I wanted to create my own unique minion inspired pattern.  I decided to combine two things I love, fingerless gloves and minions....and that's how Minion Mitts were born!

The pattern for minion mitts is written below but it is also available for download for free!

    1. Aw, that is great. I hope to have smaller sizes soon. But, these would be pretty easy to customize to fit any size. Just add or decrease the number of double crochet stitches.

  2. I had a request to make these for my friend's daughters. I measured my kids and got an idea on how big I needed to make them. I've only just made the right glove itself; none of the embellishments yet. I would be more than happy to share it with you if you like! I am pretty proud of this feat as I cannot for the life of me create my own patterns so being able to take someone else's and adjust it is huge for me!

  3. Love this pattern, Minion lovers in the family. Please advise me how I can adjust measurements etc., to DK or 8-Ply (Australian) Yarn.

  4. Please share size changes. I am not experienced enough to adjust. I tried following the pattern for an adult and the glove is small. Any suggestions?

  6. Thank you. Perfect for grandsons to enjoy.
For those wanting size changes. Look up other free fingerless mitts/fingerless gloves for adults and then chain the same as those gloves to start for this pattern. Or just chain 30 for adult. If you single crochet foundation chain 25 would be adequate for adult. This is a more flexible beginning chain and is just right for me and I have chubby arms for my shortness. See this pattern and video for sc foundation chain. http://www.meladorascreations.com/angelstgloves.htm I've made two pair already. One a little longer for warmth and wider to account for forearm width.

  10. I would suggest for kid size gloves have them try it on as you go. Starting with the chain at the beginning you can find out what size will go over your child's wrist. Then from there you simply do as many around as the starting chain calls for. The only other adjustment I would make is maybe making the thumb hole smaller for kids, so maybe chain 2 or 3 across for that opening instead of 5. Love this pattern! Super easy and quick to work up. Thank you so much for making it available for free!

  16. Thanks for making this very cute pattern available for free! I have just made a pair for a birthday gift for a friend of my son. I used DK (8-ply) yarn and a size G hook (and followed the pattern as written) and they are the perfect size for a pre-schooler. I wrote a short blog post about it: http://mamaclare.blogspot.com.au/2014/11/two-more-birthday-parties-two-more-gifts.html
