Trim:

With white fuzzy yarn, slip st to beanie to join and ch 1. Sc in next st and
each st around. Sl st to ch 1 to join.

Buckle:

With Yellow Yarn and size H crochet hook
Round 1: Ch 20, sl st to 1st chain to join round. *Be careful not to twist the chain
Round 2: Ch 1, (sc in the first 4 chain sts, 3 sc in the following chain st: this creates the corner
of the square) repeat three more times. Sl st to top of ch 1 to join the round.
Round 3: Ch 1, sl st in next st and each st around. Sl st to top of ch 1 to join round.

Tassels:

Cut 24” lengths of yarn (or twice the desired length of the tassels) in your desired colors. In the
example I use red yarn and plain white yarn. I used 4 lengths of yarn per color but you may use
more or less depending on your desired tassel thickness. Fold the lengths of yarn in half and use
a large crochet hook to pull the yarn through the bottom of one earflap. Divide the yarn into
equal thirds and braid. Tie at the bottom and cut the ends evenly. Repeat on the opposite
earflap.

Finish:   Weave in all loose ends on the hat.

This pattern is also available in sizes 0-3mo, 3-6mo, 6-12mo, 1-3 years, Child, Teen and Adult.

  2. I learned how to crochet when I was pregnant with my daughter. Sadly, I can only make squares and rectangles so we have lots and lots of baby blankets!
